Amitabh Bachchan's vibrancy in acting has mesmerized millions of movie lovers across the world. He is again ready with one of the most awaited movies Paa, its promotion got underway yesterday.

Considering the promos, it is anticipated among the industry experts and cine lovers, that Paa will be a thought provoking movie. Based on an unusual poignant subject, Paa revolves around a 12-year-old boy suffering from a rare disorder- progeria, wherein the patient ages rapidly. Kids affected by this problem lose all their hair, become bald and their veins begin to show prominently on their heads, which enlarge to a size beyond normal. Even their teeth and eyes will suffer.


The 67-year-old Big B is playing the challenging role of the boy suffering from progeria. His son Abhishek is playing the role of Big B's father in the movie while leading actress Vidya Balan will be seen playing the role of senior Bachchan's mother in the movie.

Produced by Big B's home production house AB Corp, Paa is directed by Balki, who has also penned the story. Yesteryear's renowned musician Ilayaraja has given the music for the movie.

It took 5 hours to put makeup on for Amitabh, 2 hours to take it off and 6 hours to work - at times more. Internationally renowned make-up expert Stephen Dupuis had done unbelievable make-up for Big B.


The promos left people wondering, Yash Chopra a leading director described Big B's acting in the movie as a landmark that will set new benchmarks for the film industry. All those movie lovers who wish to see Amitabh will have to wait till December 4, when the movie will be screened across country.

‘Kappal Muthalali’ for this 20

Popular director of comedy movies, Thaha will release his new movie ‘Kappal Muthalali’ by the 20th of this month. The movie, which is also a hilarious comedy will present popular comedy artist Ramesh Pisharody as the hero. Also in his support are Suraj Venjaramoodu, Jagadeesh, Sarayu, Bheeman Reghu, Mukesh, Jagathy, Salim Kumar, Thilakan, Maala, Jaffer Idukky, Bijukuttan and Kaviyoor Ponnamma.

The movie scripted by the director and Saji Damodhar, is cinematographed by Saadat. Sumesh Anand will debut as the music director while Mummy Century and Ramees Raja are producing this movie.

Nakul turns singer

He was part of a band in Boys. Since his chubby days in that movie Nakul has come a long way with his strong performances in Kadhalil Vizhunthen and Masilamani.

His next release is Kandakottai, in which he is paired opposite Poorna. After proving himself as a good actor and dancer, Nakul will now also sing in his upcoming film. So from playing a musician in reel life he is all set to emulate the same in real life. He has lent his voice to one song in Kandakottai, penned by Viveka and composed by Dhina.

Looks like Viveka's songs are inspiring actors to turn singers. Earlier Vikram crooned to the lyricist's words in Kanthaswamy and now it is Nakul!

The most popular director in Malayalam, Sathyan Anthikkad is getting ready for his fiftieth movie in Mollywood. The movies releasing planned for the Vishu of 2010, the director who is undoubtedly the biggest brand name after the Big M's in Malayalam, is in the final touchups on a special story. This time, the movie will feature the views from a township, telling the stories of people pushed back into the backgrounds of those living with posh life styles.

This movie will be told entirely through the viewpoint of a female protagonist, though the director, who is continuing with his success run in the last eight films, has not yet fixed the lady lead of the movie, Jayaram and other regulars of every Sathyan films will have roles in this fiftieth film too. Venu will handle the camera while Illayaraja will be in the charge of music department. Produced by Thankachan Immanuel in the banner of True line, the movie will start its shooting by the second week of January.

Shaji Aziz who had earlier directed Shakespeare MA Malayalam along with Shyju, has signed up Suresh Gopi, Kunchacko Boban and Kalabhavan Mani for his film 'Oridathoru Postman'.Ananya would be the heroine of this film, that would be scripted by Gireesh Kumar who had earlier scripted 'Veruthe Oru Bharya', and quite recently 'Samasthakeralam PO', and 'Kaanakanmani'.'Oridathoru Postman' would tell the tale of a village through the eyes of a postman. Innocent would play the postman, while Boban would play his son. Suresh Gopi would appear in the role of a wildlife photographer.

Joshey's multistarrer 'Christian Brothers' is in the news for the wrong reason again.Now it seems that Tamil actor Arjun will not be a part of this ambitious project, as has been announced earlier. It has been reported that Arjun, while interacting with the media in Chennai, has said that he had never discussed a project as this.
It should be remembered that Prithviraj had earlier backed out of the project, though initially it was reported that he would be a part of this project that has Mohanlal, Suresh Gopi and Dileep in the lead roles.
And a couple of days a major controversy had cropped up with Producers' Association raising cudgels against the film. The Association had decided to boycott the film, since it did not pay heed to the Association's suggestion that the production cost of films should not exceed three and a half crores.
